Hello, i am hoping to do a PLC in sound Engineering
I know this is a silly question but i found a plc coarse in Dun Laoghaire
an its perfect because there is a coarse for Advance sound Engineering coarse that i want to do in Dun Laoghaire to. However, the reason i want to do the Post Leaving Cert coarse is to get a FETAC because in order to do the Advanced sound engineering coarse you must have a FETAC.
On the PLC coarse i want to do the coarse name is Advanced Certificate Sound Engineering, im not sure if that meens i have to do a different coarse in order to get to that coarse, or dose the Advanced Sound Engineering meen that that is what i will be awarded after completeing the coarse.
Basically, dose it meen i have to get to an advanced level for that coarse or dose it meen i will be awarded an advanced level after the coarse?

Re: Sound Engineering P.L.C confusion, please help.
The Advanced Certificate in Sound Engineering is a FETAC Level 6 course and you would need to do the Certificate in Sound Engineering FETAC Level 5 before you could apply for it. See www.dlcfe.ie/07SE6.html and www.dlcfe.ie/07SE7.html. The Cert in Sound Engineering FETAC Level 5 also has links into certain third level courses in Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT), NUI Maynooth and the IT Tallaght which could lead into degree level courses. The Advanced Certificate FETAC Level 6 has links to Glamorgan University in Wales. Hope that clarifies it for you.
