I'm looking to apply for a new course (in the same college I'm currently a student of) after being in a course, which I hate, for a year and a half...
Would anyone be able to enlighten me as to what exactly needs to be done? I've been reading through http://www.cao.ie/index.php?page=faq (CAO Frequently Asked Questions) but there doesn't appear to be much information about re-applying, while in college, for a different course.
Also, what would the situation be with regard to fees? I recall someone (probably my parents) mentioning that full tuition fees (along with registration fees) would have to be paid if I was re-applying for a new course, but http://www.educationireland.ie/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=284&Itemid=100317 (EducationIreland's page on fees) only shows fees that are (seemingly) only applicable to non-EU residents... some clarification on this matter would be great.

Re: Re-applying to the CAO
If you want to transfer to another course within the college you are attending, you must have obtained the required number of points and meet the course's entry requirements. You would need to check with the Admissions Officer of the college as they may have different rules in different colleges. They may organise the transfer within the college themselves, if you are entitled to it with your original points etc, or you may have to re-apply through the CAO. Check it out. Don't forget the 1st February is fast approaching! As regards the fee situation, you may have to pay tuition fees for the first two years of the course, as you already have attended for the first two years (almost) but again please check this with your college or your local authority (Co.Council or VEC).
