Level 8 relevant engineering option
Maybe someone here can give me some info. I am doing a level 7 degree in renewable and electrical energy, there is a level 8 option in LIT but it specialises in an area that doesnt interest me. I would like to get a level 8 in engineering. Is there a suitable course i could apply for after the level 7?

What area are you interested in? The one you have started with i.e. Renewable and Electrical Energy, seems to be a very interesting one which will be very much in demand in the future what with the growth of wind turbines and other renewable sources. The add-on in LIT is the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Sustainable Energy Management (Level which would be very useful to have. I am not sure if your primary degree would have enough of the engineering element to be accepted for entry to the final year of a degree in engineering (mechanical or electrical etc) but you would need to check that out with any of the Institutes of Technology that may have an "add-on" year available. You will have to go to each of the IoTs websites and see if the type of engineering you would like is on offer and then contact their Admissions Officer with details of your Level 7.
