The National Education Database is Ireland’s only fully searchable education database, giving full details of virtually every evening class, adult education course and further learning options, as well as 3rd level courses, postgraduate and Corporate training programmes.

The National Education Database is operated by Learning Ireland and is available via Nightcourses.com, Daycourses.com, Postgrad.ie and Corporatetraining.ie.

The National Education Database is operated by Learning Ireland as unique resource for the general public.

The database contains course listings from the following distinct categories of Ireland education:

· Evening Classes
· 3rd Level Education
· Postgraduate programmes
· Corporate Training

The database contains over 40,000 courses run by Universities, Institutes of Technology, Colleges of Education, State/Other colleges, FÁS, Private colleges and other course and training providers around the country. The National Education Database was set up by Learning Ireland in 2000 and has grown to become the only resource of its type in Ireland.
 
Course Information

Within each of these categories, information is divided into (i) College Data and (ii) Course Data. Each of these distinct areas are developed as follows within the database:

College – Name, Address, County, Country, Telephone number, Fax number, Email address, Website and Organisation type (E.g. University, Institute, Private College etc)
Course – Name, Category (within the database), General description, Course Type (eg Evening Classes, Postgraduate etc), Course code, Course price, Course duration, Course times, Entry requirements, Career path, Course location, Course contact and Course certification.
 
Data Integrity

All course listings are checked by Learning Ireland prior to upload into The National Education Database.

Course providers can log into The National Education Database using the ‘Course Providers’ Interface – this gives each provider full access to the information stored about them and enables them to add/amend/delete any of their contact or course information.

Learning Ireland fully observers the Data Protection Act and does not allow any third party companies access to the information contained in The National Education Database, outside the normal rules of search afforded by the Database on the Learning Ireland websites.
